Our website address is: https://scaledevents.co.uk. Scaled Events are an Events Management and Planning Company in Edinburgh and we take your privacy and our own seriously. We will fully comply with all and any applicable Data Protection legislation. This is presently the GDPR.
If you are a Scaled Events client, we will discuss with you who we may need to share your details with for the purposes of planning and managing your event. Will not share your details with anyone else unless legally obliged and compelled to do so. We have not yet been compelled to do so
If you are not yet a client, but have made enquiries, we will not share your data with anyone unless compelled to do so. We have not yet been compelled to do so.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect personal data via email, contact forms, telephone calls and in person meetings. If you become a client of Scaled Events, we will provide you with a full privacy statement and consent form to hold and process data appropriately for the purposes of planning and managing your event.
Contact forms and Email
Contact forms and emails will collect information about you that you provide us with. We may track things like IP ranges for the purposes of a SPAM filter. We will only process your data for the purposes that you have consented to by using our contact form or by emailing us.
We will retain your contact details in our address book for the purposes of better managing your enquiries. If your address has been added to our list of blocked contacts, we will not remove that address from our systems as that will prevent us from blocking your email address. Scaled Events will consider any other requests to be deleted.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We will try to keep this to a minimum and instead share links rather than embedding content. We value your privacy.
Scaled Events look at the information such as where you linked to our site from to improve our marketing strategy because it makes good business sense to do so.
Who we share your data with
If you have simply made enquiries, Scaled Events will not share your data without your consent unless compelled to do so by a court order or similar.
If you become a client we will discuss with you who we need to share your details with in the course of arranging your event. This may include local government, law enforcement, emergency services, venues, accommodation providers etc depending on the nature of the event.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
If you use the contact form your data will be sent to our email on the devices we use. We will not send your data to other organisations without your consent unless compelled to by a court order or similar.

We will not sell or share your contact information outside of this organisation without your consent unless compelled to by a court order or similar.
How we protect your data
We use firewalls, strong passwords and other means to protect your data. We will review and update our procedures and security measures on a regular basis and keep all products current and updated.
What data breach procedures we have in place
If we are made aware of a data breach, we will inform you and the data commissioner within 72 hours of discovering or being notified of the data breach. We will pursue the prosecution of any malicious parties in the case of a data breach and will update our security if a breach occurs.
What third parties we receive data from
At present we have a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and we make use of search engines and other tools. We do not buy or obtain personal data from any organisations that has not been made public ally available.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
At present we compile data to analyse our marketing strategy. It is not used for any decision-making purposes other than how best to guide our efforts to obtain your custom.

Addenda for ScaledCon
Information submitted to the free services we are inviting you to use so that we can run the convention are covered by their own privacy policies. We are not sharing your data with any of these organisations or asking them to share with us. That is entirely up to you.
Likewise information posted into public channels at the convention will be covered by the policies of the relevant service provider. Please follow their rules and take the usual care you would use in online interactions. Please be polite and respectful and remember that chilren may be present.
Personal data we receive in connection with your participation in ScaledCon will be deleted no later than 6 weeks after ScaledCon. If ScaledCon is a success your contact details may be used to notify you of the next event. We will not share your data with any other organisations.
